Reaching for a goal...

You know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize. So run to win! All those who compete in the games use self-sontrol so they can win a crown. that crown is an earthly thing that lasts only a short time, but our crown will never be destroyed. So i do not run without a goal. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something- not just the air. I treat my body hard and make it my slave so that I myself will not be disqualified after i have preached to others.
-1 corinthians 9:24-27

In everything we do we must have a goal. In every performance we give we should be striving to do the best we can possibly do. We should alway be running our race to win. We have worked so very hard and I know we can achieve that goal we are wanting.
Before every performance we always pray to God that He will protect us and help us to do our best; during that prayer we alway make one promise to him... that we will give Him the glory. So far God has been faithful in holding up his end of the bargain, but have we? Its just a thought...

Some people honor us, but others blame us. Some people say evil things about us, but others say good. Some people say we are liars, but we speak the truth. We are not known, but we are well known. We seem to be dying, but we are not killed. We have much sadness, but we are always rejoicing. We are poor but we are making many people rich in faith. We have nothng, but we really have everything. 2 corinthians 6:8-10

We must not become tired of doing good... galatians 6:9

So be very careful how you live. Do not live lie those who are not wise, but live wisely. Use every chance you have for doing good because these are evil times. Ephisians 5:15-16

When you do things, do not let selfshness or pride be your guide. instead be huble and give more honor to others that to yourself. Do not be interested in the lives of others. Phil. 2: 3-4

I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me
And I enjoy an accolade like the rest
And you can take my picture and hang it in a gallery
Of all the "who's who's" and so-and-so's
That used to be the best at such and such
It wouldn't matter much
I won't lie, it feels alright to see your name in lights
We all need an "atta boy" or "atta girl"
But in the end I'd like to hang my hat on more besides
The temporary trappings of this world
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace
Who blessed Your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy
I don't have to look too far or too long awhile
To make a lengthy list of all that I enjoy
It's an accumulating trinket and a treasure pile
Where moth and rust, thieves and such will soon
enough destroy
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace
Who blessed Your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy
Not well-traveled, not well-read
Not well-to-do, or well-bred
I just want to hear instead
Well done, good and faithful one
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things?
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace
Who blessed Your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy
I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me
